100k Word Challenge: Day 17

Words written: 260

Thoughts:  A million things all converged at once today, which left me to re-prioritize my word count.  I took it easy at work, but PMS brain is still present.  Halfway through the day, I got some notifications about two opportunities I applied for.  Then after work, I had to stop to buy groceries and get quarters for laundry (it’s laundry and hair weekend, yay -_- ).  Then I got home, washed dishes, started on dinner, took out the trash, wrote 260 words, and then scrolled through Tumblr and Facebook.

I still have a lot of things to do today even though I want to go to bed at a reasonable time.  Some will have to wait until tomorrow, but I will try to get most of them done.  I have tomorrow off from work, so I’ll be able to get my writing done with no problem.  Then, I have dinner at a friend’s house.

This entire weekend will consist of me writing, planning, and doing chores.  When I get some confirmation about the opportunities, I’ll let you all know what it is.  For now, I need to brainstorm some ideas.

Oh, and I forgot.  My story is obviously close to the end.  Just need a few more thousand words, and the first draft will be done.  For some reason, I’m not as excited about this series.  It could just be that I’m so used to writing short stories that it’s harder for me to plot out longer works.  But I’ve written a fantasy novel before, though I never published it.  I can’t publish it under this pen name because there are too many connections to my real name.  I’ll eventually get the hang of this novella thing.  I’ve written fanfictions just as long and even longer.  Fanfiction was so much easier.  Maybe that’s why some people choose to write serials instead.  It’s easier to do by-the-pants writing that way.

Anyway, I am tired and hungry, and I’m going to relax for a bit before jumping into work.

Much love, Dana Kenzi 🙂
